Birthday Activity Ideas:
- PARACHUTE PLAY! Enjoy playing with the large parachute. Adults and children work together to play with this colorful and ginormous parachute. This is fun to do as the closing activity.
- PAINT! Painting with tempera paint, brushes, and paper (children take home their paintings).
- PAINT! Painting with spray bottles and squirt bottles onto white canvas fabric.
- Water Play! Water is so inviting and cooling when it’s hot. Pair Water Play with Frozen Smash Cakes and have so much fun while cooling off. Spray bottles. Droppers. Funnels. Scoops. Multiple bins with colored water.
- Frozen Smash Cakes. We will create frozen “cakes” using natural materials, flowers, and water. Your group will enjoy touching and smelling the “cakes” and admiring what’s frozen inside. They’ll smash the cakes using wooden mallets. Kids of all ages love to deconstruct and destroy these blocks of ice: smash cakes!
- Mud Kitchen Play. We will bring supplies to create a temporary mud kitchen for the party. We will bring water or a jug for filling, bowls, utensils, scoops, and a bin of soil to create mud.
- Playdoh Bar. We will make homemade playdoh and individually package one for each child. Children will mix their favorite colors or scent (lavender or peppermint essential oil) into their very own playdoh to take home.
- Catch the Stars. We will read a book about stars and space. Our group activity will be to then create a night sky on fabric using smashed chalk, water, and cornstarch.
- Swatch: The Color Tamer. We will read a book about a girl who loves color. Our group activity will be to then “release” color by smashing chalk and painting on fabric. It’s a favorite!
- HAPPY BIRTHDAY. We have a yard sign for display, upon request.

Play = Learning
"For a child there is no division between playing and learning; between the things he or she does 'just for fun' and things that are 'educational.' The child learns while living and any part of living that is enjoyable is also play." Penelope Leach
