Our Baby & Me classes will follow gentle explorations which are designed for babies and their needs.

Class Curriculum:

  • Songs, social play and peer learning. What does social play look like in infants? How can we support that?
  • Object permanence. How do babies interact with hidden objects? Hide and seek with materials.
  • Tactile play. Our littlest learners explore the world around them using their senses. Object weight, texture, and scent. They also primarily learn using their mouth. How can we safely support this type of learning?
  • Divergent thinking and creativity. How do babies learn pretend play with their caregiver as primary example, modeling, and joyful imaginary play?
  • Water and dirt. How can we introduce these sensory materials to babies and infants in safe ways? How can they engage with mud using their feet and hands? Sensory stimulation and messy play are important throughout childhood development
  • Music and celebration with our littlest learners. 🎶  Language development is a key to focus on with our littlest ones. Sounds. Approximations. Sing-song and communicate to your baby throughout the day. Sing nursery rhymes. Make up silly songs. Change tone and inflection.
☔️ Weather policy: class will be held outdoors or under the shelter in light rain. If the weather includes severe rain, we will communicate and reschedule.

☀️ Infant and toddler wheel of learning: communicating, thinking, solving problems, sensory exploration, movement, language exploration, and being with other people and children.

Enrollment: Minimum of 4 families.

Play = Learning

"For a child there is no division between playing and learning; between the things he or she does 'just for fun' and things that are 'educational.' The child learns while living and any part of living that is enjoyable is also play."  Penelope Leach
